About Brook Photography Courses:
Paul Brook BA Hons, ARPS studied at the prestigious
Arts Institute, Bournemouth, and Sinar in Switzerland. As well as a degree
in photography Paul also has his professional qualifying examination (PQE)
from The British Institute of Professional Photographers (BIPP).
In
1995
Paul opened Brook's Studio and built the business
up to be a successful high street studio, establishing his style as a
contemporary portrait and wedding photographer as well as advertising and
editorial.
In 2002 Brook’s Studio expanded and started offering photography courses and seminars. Over the
past 6 years the demand for the seminars has expanded dramatically, resulting in
the opening of Brook’s School Of Photography to run along side the successful
commercial studio, offering photography courses such as "Workshop Diplomas" in Studio
Portraiture and Wedding Photography.
Our aim:
Brook photography courses & seminars are intended for the keen amateur who is looking to
develop their hobby into a profitable business. All our courses are very
practical and therefore will involve a lot of photography, enabling you to
create your own portfolio. Brook School of Photography courses run from one day to one week and
tuition on all aspects of commercial photography is offered. We base all
our seminars on our own business practices, and share all our information
and experiences with you; this includes all our pricing and costing. We
also give you examples of our bookkeeping and the day to day running of
our business.
Practical portrait photography sessions in the studio will focus on familiarity with
studio equipment (including home/mobile studios) and lighting. We will
teach you how to set-up the studio lights for different looks (including
high and low key), measure the flash correctly and pose your models.
You will also be given an introduction to digital manipulation using
Photoshop.
The wedding seminar covers the whole aspect of wedding photography, from
obtaining bookings through to producing the final album (including running
a photography business and the cost involved). In addition to the theory
there will also be shoots with models on location (including at a church)
and in the studio. We will also cover technical difficulties you may
encounter while photographing the intimate portraits of the bride and
groom as well as how to set-up and pose the group photographs. |
